Paul, an English teenager with a history of bedwetting, is haunted by apocalyptic dreams. He is able to see spirits of the dead, known as the Fades which cannot be seen, smelled, heard or touched by other humans. When Polus, an embittered and vengeful Fade, finds a way to be human again, it's up to Paul to stop him, and all of the Fades, from breaking back into the world and destroying the human race.
